As an integral member of our dynamic team you will be commercially astute individual, playing a pivotal role in providing technical product and sales support and interpret and design a range of technical drawings and specifications for Air Handling Units. A background in the air movement industry is highly desirable and we prioritise finding the right candidate who demonstrates a clear mechanical and technical bias. Full on-the-job training will be provided to the successful applicant, who should be motivated, flexible, and eager to excel in a small yet highly professional and agile team.
Responsibilities:
- Design and quote of custom and standard ventilation products (Air Handling Units)
- Interpretation of customer requirements, from technical schedules, specification, drawings, or competitor products
- Evaluation of customer potential - use knowledge to make judgement on how best to quote
- Compile quotes to meet requirements - design custom units and/or choose correct standard product
- Commercial knowledge and understanding of both AVT business operations and market expectations on price
- Liaise with customers, consultants, company sales managers regarding projects
- Obtain component quotes from suppliers (source new suppliers where necessary)
- Negotiate and secure orders
- Process relevant paperwork for order entry/design office/contract review
- Prepare/maintain reports for head office and keep customer records/quote log/project pipeline
- Provide training and produce support material for other members of the sales team
- Technical assistance for all AVT commercial products
- Project manage orders through business/drawing office/purchasing/production to manage customer expectations
Person Specification:
- Provide mentoring and training to junior staff members
- Knowledge of various regulations (ERP/Part L/HTM03-01/BB101/etc)
- Ability to design and draw AHU drawings where needed (including modifying CCSI output) - using Autocad
- Ability to technical select various components using supplier software (Ziehl Abegg/ EBM / ERI / Hoval / H&C coils / Maico / Etc)
- A good head for problem solving for on-site technical issues
- Proficient in reading and understanding technical drawings
- Assist with CCSI software updates
- Solid technical background
- 3D/spatial awareness for AHU design
- Good clear communication on both a technical and sales level
- Team-working ability but able to work on own initiative and independently where required
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
