An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Carbon Reduction Project Manager to join the Corporate Services team with one of the emergency services. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing professional services in respect of mechanical and electrical planned and reactive maintenance and services in a multi-discipline environment. This role is crucial in supporting our commitment to energy management and carbon reduction initiatives.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Oversee mechanical and electrical building services and energy management projects.
  • Prepare mechanical and electrical specifications/schedules of works, drawings, and schedules for improvements, building maintenance, and services works.
  • Act as a contract administrator for mechanical and electrical maintenance works, ensuring clear understanding and adherence to contract conditions.
  • Utilise a range of IT applications to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the context of the duties of the post.
  • Monitor budgets and expenditure, provide cost estimates, maintain accurate financial records, and provide financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with planning and building regulations, codes of practice, tender and contracts procedures, and Health and Safety at Work Act and environmental legislation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant building services and electrical qualification (e.g., HNC or higher) or equivalent extensive experience at an appropriate level.
  • Experience in managing mechanical and electrical services in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Practical experience in the preparation of mechanical and electrical specifications and contract administration.
  • Good organisational skills to programme workloads, respond to changing priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to produce technical correspondence and reports.
  • Analytical skills to undertake research, analyse information, and provide solutions to complex problems.
  • Interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships and ensure high levels of customer care.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety, environmental legislation, and commitment to equalities issues.
