Adecco have an exciting new opportunity to work within the product testing team onsite in Welwyn Garden City facility as Kitchen Assistant with a well known organisation who cook and serve to customers for feedback. The ideal individual would have experience with some food preparation and kitchen experience.

While the role will support cooks in the kitchen it will mainly involve acting as an intermediary in the kitchen for final prep and clean down, on occasions some cooking will be done by this individual and further training will be given.

Skills:

  • Previous experience in kitchens
  • Experience as Cook is highly beneficial
  • Experience as a kitchen porter, organising kitchen and cleaning is highly beneficial
  • Food preparation and cooking skills experience.
  • Food Hygiene Certification not required as training will be given but is beneficial if held already
  • This role would be very suitable for a somebody who has operatedin kitchens at Institutional operation such school/college or even carehomes with some 'simple' cooking
  • Ability to communicate clearly.
  • Strong team working ethic.
  • Broad range of kitchen & food preparation skills.
  • Ability to accurately follow preparation instructions and processes.
  • Strong planning, organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to respond to change quickly and work in a fast paced environment.
  • PLEASE NOTE: this role involves standing for the majority of the day, as in a working kitchen

Responsibilities:

Supporting our cooks with clean downs, washing up all plates, cutlery, logging in all the products, organising our products for the next day. In addition to this, we would also require this individual to support cooking products occasionally.

  • Receiving and logging the food samples into the Quality kitchen, highlighting any issues as necessary
  • Responsible for cleaning kitchen equipment daily/deep cleaning the kitchen ensuring a 5 star hygiene standard.
  • Support the planning and preparing the kitchen prior to testing following process as set out by the Product Insight operations team.
  • Support the cooks in the preparations and cooking instructions detailed on the product packaging.
  • Prepare samples for panellists/customers to blind test.
  • Ensuring food hygiene regulations are observed at all times, using the correct tools and methods in line with the standards set out within the company procedures and maintaining a '5' star food hygiene rating.
