Full Time Permanent Monday-Friday

Start date in June 2024

Salary: Starting from £40,000 plus car allowance and other company benefits.

This role is ideal for candidates with 1-2 years experience at Project Manager level who are keen to take the next step in their development in their career. Our client is a main contractor with big expansion plans and are in a great position to mentor an Up & Coming Project Manager to grow within the business.

Candidates must be located within an hour of Bedfordshire, have experience on fit out projects and possess sound technical construction knowledge with a proven history managing 2-3 projects at a time in a previous role.

Full UK Driving license essential with access to own vehicle to travel to sites.

What will be expected of you...

To work collaboratively and pro-actively with all stakeholders to provide clear information at the right time to the right people in order to provide the best opportunity to deliver construction and refurbishment projects successfully in terms of safety, time, cost and quality whilst achieving customer satisfaction and profitability for the company.

  • Obtaining a comprehensive understanding of the customers requirements
  • Understand project specific timelines, process, responsibilities and contract terms and deliver the project(s) accordingly
  • Identify and eliminate any projects risks
  • Identify and implement any project opportunities for improvement
  • Manage the production of Health & Safety and Environmental information from Pre-Contract, through the construction phase and post contract
  • Manage the development of the project design to the correct level of detail and timelines
  • Work with the customer, their PQS, our QS or Estimator to develop commercial information in order to prepare a compelling proposal, receive instruction to proceed, procure all resources to deliver the project, maintain ongoing project costs through delivery to final account
  • Liaise with all suppliers and sub-contractors to ensure a full understanding of their responsibilities and requirements
  • Produce a comprehensive project plan including timelines for all tasks within pre-site, the site build and post contract
  • Attend all meetings with customers and other stakeholders as required from pre-site, through site build to post contract
  • Manage the production of reporting information as dictated within the company process/systems and the customers requirements
  • Monitor all site works to ensure compliance with H&S, quality, Programme and costs
  • Pro-actively manage the closing out of any defects
  • Work with the QS to agree customer and sub-contractor final accounts
  • Attend regular business wide planning meetings and report progress, risks and opportunities
  • Attend training as and when required by the company and maintain levels of qualification

Ideally Degree qualified, although RICS accreditation is not necessary it would be an advantage. Alternatively working towards Degree Qualification though Post Graduate learning. Minimum requirement HND in Construction Management.

A recognized H&S qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH with asbestos awareness.

  • negotiation and team work skills and the ability to motivate and lead other members of the project team collaboratively;
  • detailed knowledge of past and current building and construction technology, processes, materials, business and legal matters;
  • an ability to lead the team to achieve an shared success outcome where all stakeholders benefit.
