Business Analyst

The starting salary for this role is £45,680 per annum based on working 36-hours per week. This role is offered as a fixed term contract until the end of October 2025 with the possibility of extension.

Are you an experienced and outcome focused Business or Data Analyst who has experience of working on large innovative change projects involving multiple stakeholders? We are excited to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Business Analyst to work on our Freedom to Travel Programme. You can expect to work flexibly, either working from home, with travel to various offices and locations in Surrey as required.

About the Role

The Freedom to Travel Programme is an ambitious and interesting cross directorate programme which aims to change how the council and partners plan, commission and deliver travel and transport services to residents in the medium to long term. This programme will enable a range of options so that Surrey residents who need our support can make the right journeys, in the right way, at the right time. The work will span a number of directorates within the Council including Home to School Transport, Adults and Childrens Social Care, Environment and Transport, Greener Futures and IT.

The Business Analyst will be supporting a significant organisational cultural and system change programme which includes new ways of working and technology to deliver value to residents. The Business Analyst will operate across the organisation to build good relationships that help facilitate an understanding of requirements.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, has excellent analytical and data management skills and who engages enthusiastically with stakeholders. You will have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small and enthusiastic team to deliver this innovative change programme. You will bring a breadth of experience and enthusiasm to this role.

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Extensive data analysis experience
  • Process modelling experience
  • Ability to work on projects with some ambiguity and risk
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Able to assess business need and identify opportunities for further exploration and improvement
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholder requirements
  • Project management experience
