Finance Manager

Reed Finance are seeking a Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of an organisation with an annual operating budget of circa £4m. The successful candidate will ensure that we meet our regulatory and contractual obligations in managing budgets and reporting to funders. This role involves financial administration, forecasting, reporting, and ensuring effective financial processes and controls.

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidate to secure a new 2-year Fixed Term Contract with a not-for-profit based in the heat of Edinburgh.

Key Duties

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of financial regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance and advance planning for future changes
  • Embed financial best practices within the organisation, adapting and applying principles appropriately
  • Implement mechanisms for compliance with financial policies, guidelines, and procedures, including communication and monitoring systems
  • Manage funding across multiple sources, adhering to individual terms and conditions
  • Oversee expenditure with third parties, including review and approval of purchase orders and payment requests
  • Lead the monthly and annual forecasting processes, advising and negotiating with Senior Leadership Team members
  • Enhance reporting and budgetary control, monitoring financial position against budget and acting on anomalies
  • Prepare management information for the Senior Leadership Team and Steering Board
  • Contribute to strategic plans, including costing new initiatives, financial modelling, and risk-based analysis
  • Liaise with external funders to ensure financial controls are met and reported consistently

Candidate

  • Proven experience in financial management and administration
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation
  • Ability to embed financial best practices and ensure compliance
  • Experience in financial planning, forecasting, and reporting
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with various stakeholders
