Do you have experience working as a Warehouse Operative?
Acorn by Synergie is looking for someone to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of ambient, chilled, frozen and speciality products to feed the flow of business operations while providing Service Excellence to internal and external customers.
What will the role involve?
- You will be administering the WM system and running reports to enable aisles to be checked daily. Maintaining and advising of amendments to pallet layer quantities and minimum and maximums in the pickface.
- To work as part of the stock Control team to manage the stock within the depot. And to support with stock take on an annual basis.
- You will need to be Multi skilled with the ability to operate within all aspects of the Warehouse following operational and admin processes and standards, including work within the Frozen, Chilled and Ambient chambers.
- Accurately pick customer orders and ensure that all products are assembled in a methodically stacked way to the highest standard for our customers.
- With adequate training, operate a MHE truck to move and re-arrange stock and ensure that pick & bulk locations are correctly and safely labelled and report any errors to your supervisor.
- Maintenance of pick faces reducing and increasing on a constant basis in line with demand.
- Maintenance of product layout, ensuring that products of a similar nature are segregated to avoid picking errors. Heavy items are to be laid at ground level.
- Unloading and loading of vehicles to ensure all goods both in and out are recorded accurately.
- Cleaning and maintaining the Warehouse to a high standard at all times following a clean as you go standard.
- Moving pallets and ensuring the yard is clean and safe.
- Building cages and ensuring any damages to cages are reported to management on shift.
- Ensuring care is taken with all stock to prevent damages and complete checks for damaged or missing items.
- Checking best before dates for all bin locations in line with company standard for Ambient, Chilled and Frozen chambers
- Compliance with all the requirements of the Food Standards policy and procedures at all times
- Subject to training, act as 'Drivers Assistant', 'Van Driver' as and when required by the business
- Responsibility to train, buddy and mentor new employees, ensuring health and safety compliance is met at all times
- Work with all team members to ensure corporate goals, productivity, Service Excellence and any other specific targets are consistently achieved and maintained
- Technology will drive future changes to the business. You will be expected to adapt to any new ways of working and technological advantage subject to receiving the appropriate training
- Comply with company Health and Safety Policies
What are we looking for?
- This job is very physical and includes manual labour
- Ideally experience using voice pick
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
- Basic IT skills
- Experience in working in multi-temperature distribution
- Good communication skills
- Good team player with a flexible approach to duties and tasks
- Able to plan and organise where appropriate
What else do I need to know?
- The salary for this role is £2700 plus a competitive shift allowance
- You will be working 45 hours per week 5 days out of 7
- You will be required to work a variety of shifts
