Due to strong growth, the business has recently gained a larger manufacturing site in Teesside and you will be joining the company at an exciting time.

Your new role
As an Accounts Assistant, your main responsibility would be to maintain the company's sales and purchase ledgers for both the UK and other sites, resolving issues should there be any.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to

  • Prepare and send customer invoices.
  • Credit control, including dealing with slow payers.
  • Maintenance of sales ledger.
  • Creating and managing purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Ensure the purchase ordering system is maintained and kept up to date.
  • Process vendor invoices, matching to purchase order (PO) or purchase requisition (PR).
  • Investigating missing PO's and PR's and dealing with queries.
  • Audit vendor statements and obtain missing invoices.
  • Dealing with vendors regarding missing invoices and requests for payment.
  • Carry out any ad hoc duties and responsibilities as assigned by your line manager or for business needs.

What you'll need to succeed
Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • Strong spreadsheet and financial analysis (Excel look-ups and pivot tables would be an advantage).
  • Excellent communicator at all levels, good at relationship building.
  • Capability to use initiative, natural ability to recognise and respond to problems.
  • Numerate, accurate with the ability to meet deadlines and targets.
  • Performance is driven by a desire to succeed.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.

Desired Qualifications / Skills:

  • Experience of SAP, Sage Payroll, Sage 50 would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in a finance function.
