Main purpose of job:

An exciting opportunity has become available as a Quality Engineer to work alongside the Technical Team within the The main purpose of Job is to provide support as part of the UK Quality Support team and provide external product quality-related support to Sales teams and that of our customers.

Based in the Midlands at our purpose-built 25,000 sq. ft. Head Office and Distribution Centre, we design, develop, manufacture and distribute our ever-expanding product range throughout the UK.

Main duties

  • Coordinate and improve onsite goods inwards inspection activities, including monitoring and controlling ship to stock practices.
  • Conduct product audits and raise corrective actions when necessary.
  • Monitoring and analysing the performance of suppliers and their quality process'.
  • Conduct First Article Inspections for new and incoming product lines.
  • Provide timely & accurate product-related reports and responses to internal/external customers and/or suppliers.
  • Supporting new product launches to ensure that supplier quality matters are determined and implemented.
  • Attending and/or conducting meetings as required, to advise about quality-related matters and action/communicate instructions.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong Quality Engineering background.
  • Experience within a similar role, dealing with suppliers/customers.
  • Substantial experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Working experience with creating ISIR and FAIR inspections, as well as using quality tools such as 8D, 5WHY, FISHBONE diagrams.
  • An understanding of both domestic and commercial electrical installations.
  • Strong ability to interpret drawings and technical documents.
  • Strong knowledge of metrology, inspection method and equipment.
  • An understanding of BS/EN standards within the electrical industry.
  • Excellent skills to use the Microsoft Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ideally qualified within an Electrical / Electronic engineering discipline.

All necessary product training will be provided.
