Job Purpose:

The Merchandising Manager will create and deliver the product strategy and successfully manage the end-to-end process of managing the outlet product range for their respective category, collaborating with design and product development teams as well as regional teams on product strategy execution. They will work with sourcing, inventory, and planning teams to support outlet merchandising operational efficiencies and inventory controls, fostering a culture of simplification, innovation, and collaboration, driving excellence across their respective areas. They will coach and develop a Merchandiser / Assistant merchandiser, supporting them in delivering the collection. Working closely with the Senior Merchandising Manager, shaping, and defining the Outlet strategy to best support the outcomes of the global outlets business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive product range development, managing full lifecycle of product from brief to delist / exit.
  • Collaborate with the wider outlet teams in developing the strategic plan and influence cross-functional teams to deliver strategic direction for the category
  • Drive the range plan development and approval including pricing strategy and competition review
  • Develop relationships with cross functional peers across sourcing, design, product development and planning, influencing them in delivering strategic direction for the category
  • Create effective working relationships with Regional Merchandising / Planning & Central Merchandsing to gain product feedback and market research
  • Guide regions on seasonal buys – support product selection for specific regions
  • Support defining 4YP by category
  • Lead, coach, and develop a Merchandiser / Assistant Merchandiser
  • Run and analyse regular sales reports and propose appropriate trade action while collaborating with planning and regional teams
  • Prepare seasonal hindsight / sales analysis to inform seasonal buy and regional product selection
  • Manage accuracy of seasonal market documents / tools including PLM data entry, product details presentations and excel databases
  • Own the retail pricing positioning in line with margin targets and competition strategy
  • Cooperate with sourcing regularly regarding production and deliveries
  • Support in prioritising day to day activities and meeting deadlines according to critical path
  • Coordinate all administration duties relating to market / product training for the Merchandising and regional teams

Personal Profile:

  • Strong experience in category merchandising, preferably in a luxury environment
  • Managing experience in leading a small team/ process working autonomously
  • Understanding of Open to Buy management
  • Knowledge of fashion product trends in a global market and luxury consumer and competitors
  • Strong product knowledge with a good taste level and ability to confidently influence the design team
  • Able to manage a budget with commercial awareness, retail math skills and understanding of product cost, achieving a balance between creativity and commercial implications
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with credibility, share information effectively, and collaborate confidently with cross functional teams at all levels
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
