Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor, Cost Management - Design & Construction

So that Amazon can deliver more for customers and colleagues, this role contributes to the implementation and continuous improvement of cost management within Design & Construction by ensuring control, accuracy, visibility and value is driven into all programmes & project activity. Delivering expertise on capital control, budget preparation and cost engineering. Key job responsibilities- Contribute delivering construction and engineering cost aspects of a pan-EU and MENA specialist logistics building program- Implement and improve means of tracking, interrogating and forecasting of capital spend accurately and to proactively guide the capital delivery programmes- Support project teams on implementing procurement strategies and guidelines- Contribute to project cost reviews of risks and opportunities to minimize out-turn cost through Value engineering and cost avoidance- Provision of detailed and timely management information to the business- Support Reporting, Validation & Tracking measures toward D&C cost out targets. A day in the lifeA day in the life of this role will be meeting with the rest of Amazon cost team to develop and finalize the budget for new projects and then support through the approvals process with benchmarking and negotiation. You will support developing cost/benefit analysis and cost management roadmap of the live project. You will also work closely with our internal design team and construction managers to deliver best practices and lessons learned into future generations of projects. Process improvement is key, as we scale across countries, currencies, construction and engineering elements. You will dedicate time each day to finding ways to scale the solutions the team designs to work worldwide.About the teamOur team is based all over Europe and has a culture of earning trust by delivering for our Customers. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- A completed Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying, construction economics or comparable field - Proficient across all MS office applications- Ability to travel up to 30% within assigned regions "

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Working toward becoming a member of the RICS or AACE- Experience delivering construction cost management to retail and/or logistics industries- Ability to influencing and negotiate- German, French, Polish, Arabic, Turkish, Afrikaans and Zulu are considered preferred qualifications.Would you like an opportunity to travel and work in multiple countries and cultures?
