Control Systems Engineer | Nuclear Industry | Competitive Salary (Enquire for Details) | Derby / Hybrid Working (3 days per week on-site)
Yolk Recruitment are working with a leading industrial consultancy seeking a skilled Control Systems Engineer with expertise in Beckhoff control systems to join their Nuclear division at client site in Derby.
As a Control Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in modifying and enhancing existing control systems under support contracts, as well as participating in new project work. Ideally you will have strong experience in Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 PLC programming and experience with Siemens PLC/SCADA.
The role will be based on client site in Derby & they can offer hybrid working with 3 days per week on-site. Candidates need to be eligible for SC security clearance.
This is what you will be doing:
- Develop PLC and SCADA system designs based on customer requirements, ensuring high standards of quality and innovation.
- Program PLC control systems and configure SCADA systems from developed or provided designs, following rigorous QA procedures.
- Participate throughout the entire software/systems lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, installation, configuration, and documentation.
- Conduct installation, configuration, and testing at customer sites, working within project teams to meet customer deadlines.
The experience you will bring to the team:
- Proven experience with Beckhoff TwinCAT 3 PLC programming (IEC 61131-3 Structured Text) and familiarity with unit testing.
- Strong understanding of Siemens PLC & SCADA programming.
- Excellent client-facing skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a combined client/contractor team.
- Ability to produce comprehensive design documentation and Test Specifications, with a willingness to travel and work away when required.
