Salary- £55,500 - £61,750

Location- Canary Wharf, 1-2 days per week.

Allen Lane are supporting the Security Industry Authority (SIA) in their search for a permanent Senior Finance Business Partner for Financial Accounting.

We are seeking a qualified accountant ready to inform strategic decision-making and deliver operational financial services to the SIA and its stakeholders.

The SIA's purpose is protecting the public through effective regulation of the private security industry, working with partners to raise standards across the sector. Our regulatory remit covers the whole of the United Kingdom.

You will join us at an important time as we seek to continually improve our organisation, working with our partners to join the dots of a broader public protection agenda. As a publicly funded body, it is incumbent upon us to be economic, efficient, and effective. We want to keep our licence fees as low as possible while we carry out our role with impact and generate quality outcomes. As our Senior Finance Business Partner, you will make a real difference by supporting our goal to be a regulator that spends well and is efficient in discharging our responsibilities and delivering our purpose.

You will be responsible for the preparation of SIA's annual and monthly accounts, managing the SIA's general ledger and contributing to the maintenance of the Risk Register. You will liaise with the Home Office and other key stakeholders to support and influence key strategic decision-making whilst encouraging efficiency and value for money. Your role will be to lead on improving managers financial awareness and understanding to enable the delivery of the SIA's Efficiency Strategy.

As Senior Business Partner for Financial Accounting, you will lead the Financial Accounting team with management of two Finance Assistants and report into the Head of Finance and Procurement.

In order to demonstrate your ability to fulfil this role, applicants should be able to demonstrate experience with the following essential criteria:

  • A relevant professional accountancy qualification (applicants must be qualified within a CCAB body) with minimum post-qualification experience of 3 years.
  • Prior experience of the preparation and/or audit of Central Government or other similar public sector financial statements
  • Confidence and credibility with excellent communication and relationship management skills.
  • A proven ability to deliver outcomes involving strategic financial decision making, including influencing at a senior level.
  • Strong Excel skills.
  • Proven experience of delivering value for money through strong commercial awareness.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to build an effective network of key stakeholders quickly.
  • Ability to act under own initiative and problem solve independently.
  • Pro-active, flexible, resilient, motivated and results oriented.

This role is subject to Security Clearance (SC) vetting.
