A global Investment management organisation, that are extremely well-established and have a strong technical environment, have acquired an Edinburgh-based Fintech organisation. They're expanding their Edinburgh-based Development function and are currently looking for a couple of skilled Software Engineers, ideally with experience using Ruby to join their hybrid team.
The company have been running very successfully now for years and are recognised as one of leading organisations in their sector, they have offices and development functions spread across the globe and are looking to really mark their mark in Edinburgh now.
You'd be working in a **product focused environment, and with a distributed engineering squad, with Engineers based in Edinburgh and from other sites. They have a few key, **enterprise level products, that you'll be working on pretty quickly. Additionally, you'll be involved with the big **migration to help move everything over to the new organisation, you'll also help **modernise and **improve features on these platforms too.
You'll ideally be coming in as one of the more experienced **Software Engineers within the Edinburgh team, so they're ideally looking for someone with some good commercial experience behind them, bonus points if you've had prior experience within a Senior Engineering role. You'll be working with **Ruby pretty much everyday, so they're ideally looking for someone that feels comfortable with this language.
The company place a really big importance on **Software Engineering fundamentals and **best practices, and the team adhere to strong test protocols - so are ideally looking for someone that has worked in a similar environment.
You'll ideally have experience with most of the following;
- * Ruby on Rails
- * Cloud Services (ideally AWS)
- * Modern JavaScript Libraries (Ideally ReactJS + TypeScript)
- * Working with relational databases
- * Good test experience (TDD mindset would be great!)
Experience with the following is highly desirable;
- * DevOps tooling
- * Working within a regulated environment
They've got offices in **Edinburgh city centre, just walking distance from Waverly and Haymarket station - this is a **hybrid role, where you'd be expected **onsite three days per week for some face-to-face time with the Edinburgh team.
In return, they're able to offer a **salary from £40k to £70k for these roles (although could be scope for more if someone really impressed) on top of a strong benefits package (10-15% bonus, good pension and holiday allowance).
