Description
As a staff nurse / preceptorship nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Upholding our core values of promoting openness, transparency, and learning.
- Effectively running the shift and attending regular meetings to review and monitor patients' care plans.
- Building relationships with patients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns.
- Ensuring the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitoring side effects.
- Accurately recording patient information and communicating with other MDT staff regarding patient care needs.
- Offering support and supervising the practice of junior staff and student nurses to ensure safe and effective nursing practice within a secure environment.
- Performing administrative duties, including the screening, assessment, and follow-up support of patients.
- Providing care and support to patients and families and working effectively as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.
Skills
- Registered Nurse with current registration (mental health / LD / Adult) appropriate to the job role.
- Knowledge of child and adult safeguarding procedures.
- Ability to manage change, organize, and prioritize workloads.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance care through evidence-based knowledge.
- Professional development relevant to the care group.
- Ability to assess and manage clinical risk.
