Procurement Business Partner

Here at Hays, we are working with a large FMCG based in North Yorkshire on the recruitment of a Procurement Business Partner. This is an excellent opportunity to join their central procurement team on a 12-month fixed term basis. This role is paying £50,000 pro rata, offering hybrid working with a few days a week on site in Harrogate. The role will involve taking ownership of procurement activities within nominated categories. The central procurement team is responsible for the management of all indirect spend across the Group. You will be reporting directly to the Head of Central Procurement.
This role would be suitable for someone who has previous indirect procurement experience, with a proven track record of procurement best practice. You will be liaising with the indirect buyers of the central procurement team, stakeholders across the Group in business partnering areas, and external suppliers. Key responsibilities for this role:

  • Ownership for procurement activities within nominated categories.
  • Creating effective collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders through a business partnering approach.
  • Timely management of stakeholder requisitions and purchase orders within IFS.
  • Develop/agree category procurement strategies with key stakeholders.
  • Challenge internal requirements and external suppliers to deliver the best value solutions.
  • Actively engaging with and contributing to the delivery of the Central Procurement team purpose, including working to increase the involvement of and influence of Central Procurement in Group Indirect spend.

Experience and qualifications needed for this role:

  • Previous experience in an indirect procurement role; with proven strong knowledge of procurement skills, techniques, and best practice.
  • Demonstratable examples of initiating and implanting continuous improvement or change initiatives.
  • Experience of negotiating contractual terms and prices with suppliers.
  • Demonstrable examples of leadership
  • Problem-solving - approaches challenging situations and develops proposals and solutions.
  • Able to assess and work with fluctuating priorities, balancing the needs of multiple diverse stakeholders.
  • Ideally, experience with facilities management as a category.
