Fleet Controller required for this successful company with some high profile maintenance contracts
Role is to manage the fleet operations of 15 highway maintenance vehicles
Hours are 8am - 5pm
Role shall be to manage the fleet and workshop and drivers.
Company are seeking someone who can bring suggestions and improvements to current processes and who will work closely with other departments across the business
Daily duties will include but isn't limited to:
- Organising inspections & MOTs
- Resolving vehicle defects, breakdowns, warranty repairs
- Operating our job management software - uploading jobs to the drivers tablets, handling stock control, actioning defects
- Workshop management (manging mechanic/workshop) - this will include giving work to the mechanic to do for the day/week, making sure the workshop is staying tidy and safe
- Purchasing - ordering parts, fuel, AdBlue, oils as and when needed
- Driver welfare - speaking to the drivers making sure they are okay and have everything they need to do their jobs, assisting with holiday requests
- Specific contract management - for example some contracts have more stringent security procedures so will need to management applications for ID passes and vehicle passes
This is an interesting role and could lead to the position of Transport Manager or Operations Manager if the candidate is willing to progress.
Mainly office based at client depot, however could attend site or customer offices from time to time.
Working hours will be 8am-5pm.
Skills Required:
Strong IT skills
Good communication skills
Good work ethic
Able to manage your own time
Knowledge of construction industry (preferred)
Knowledge of trucks, mechanically minded (preferred)
Knowledge and experience of management a fleet.
