Salary up to £36,500 DOE

Pertemps are thrilled to be working with a well known client in the Rotherham area to recruit for a Carpentry and Joinery lecturer. This candidate will play a vital role in enriching the apprentice and employer journey by providing expert skills coaching and tutoring. As a subject matter expert, you will design and deliver engaging teaching sessions, empowering apprentices to excel in their end point assessment. Duties:

  • Develop engaging and informative teaching sessions that align with health standards, fostering the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and desired behaviours among learners.
  • Provide personalised coaching and skill enhancement, offering constructive feedback to ensure apprentices successfully complete their End Point Assessment (EPA) in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular tripartite reviews involving the apprentice's line manager/mentor, ensuring all parties are aligned for the successful completion of EPA within the designated timeframe.
  • Support the progress of apprentices by conducting on site workplace visits, guiding them in the creation of showcase evidence such as observations, reflective accounts, and professional discussions, all meticulously documented in the e-portfolio system, OneFile.
  • Identify and report any operational issues that may impede learner progression to the appropriate line manager for resolution.
  • Set achievable tasks and provide ongoing support to apprentices throughout their journey, including preparation for functional skills assessments.
  • Assist employers in understanding and fulfilling their responsibilities regarding both on-the-job and off-the-job training requirements for apprentices.

Requirements:

  • Vocationally relevant qualification within Carpentry and Joinery at level 3 or above
  • Experience in assessing within Apprenticeship Standards and a recognised Assessors Award would be desirable
  • Experience of support learners through assignments and assessments
  • An appropriate teaching qualification would be desirable
