Salary: £17/hour
Hours; 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday – 9:00am-5:00pm
Location; Wallsend

I'm currently recruiting on behalf of a reputable Charity that is actively seeking an experienced Substance Misuse Worker for a service based in the Wallsend area, who is available to start immediately.
About the Role:
As a Recovery Co Ordinator, you'll be responsible for completing comprehensive assessments, delivering harm reduction advice and demonstrating a solid understanding of substance use issues. You'll also be expected to confidentially handle phone enquiries and provide support to the duty worker at reception, ensuring a professional and sensitive approach at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out initial and ongoing assessments of clients needs, risks and goals related to substance use.
- Provide 1-1 support such as motivational interviewing, CBT techniques and brief interventions
- Deliver and support harm reduction advice including overdose prevention, needle exchange and completing DBST.
- Liaise with other health professionals
- Maintain accurate and confidential records using case management systems
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of clients interactions, assessments and progress on case management systems.
Required:
- Previous experience working within a drug and alcohol service
- Experience in completing assessments and providing harm reduction advice
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one)
- NVQ level 3 Health and Social care (or above or equivalent) or willing to work towards this.
