Our client, an independent food wholesaler are currently going through a significant period of growth and are investing heavily in all areas of their business. We have therefore been instructed to work on a new exclusive opportunity for a Warehouse Manager who can take their business forward and implement new business changing ideas.
Job Title: Warehouse Manager
Location: Reading
Salary: £40000 - £50000 DOE - 23 days + BH, Private Healthcare, Annual bonus, Staff Discount
Hours of Work - Monday - Friday
Duties & Responsibilities:
Working directly with the business owners you will have responsibility for the following areas:
- Warehouse Management:
Ensuring sufficient stock levels, seeking best prices, and negotiating terms and conditions.
Manage the receipting, despatching and progress chasing of Raw Material items to meet company requirements.
Manage Stock Holding Locations to ensure space is used effectively
Reconcile stock returns and credits received from suppliers liaising with colleagues
Monitoring and reporting on key consumables.
- Management of the Logistics function to include:
Team leadership
Maximising capacity of vehicles for delivery
Create and utilise a live delivery calendar available for sales staff to work with
Liaise with sales and production staff to ensure orders are ready and delivered efficiently and on time.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of vehicle accidents, ensuring that vehicle costs and excesses are covered by insurers
You will have previous experience in a similar position and be able to work effectively and to agreed timelines. You will be an excellent communicator and possess strong IT skills with the ability to think on your feet and forward plan.
Experience of working in the Food industry would be highly advantageous.
