**Behaviour Mentor – Primary School, Islington

Location: Islington, London
Contract Type: Full-time (ASAP Start)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Start Date: Immediate/ASAP

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young children? Do you have experience supporting students with challenging behaviour? We are looking for a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our vibrant primary school in Islington and provide tailored support for students struggling with social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

**Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and group support for children with challenging behaviour, helping them manage emotions and develop positive behaviours.
  • Implement behaviour management plans, working closely with teachers, SENCO, and parents.
  • Assist with classroom management, creating a positive, inclusive learning environment.
  • Lead small intervention groups focused on emotional regulation, social skills, and conflict resolution.
  • Support students during crisis situations, providing de-escalation strategies and sensory breaks when needed.
  • Monitor student progress, adjusting support strategies in collaboration with staff and families.

**Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children displaying challenging behaviour, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, resilience, and a calm approach in high-pressure situations.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
  • A commitment to promoting the well-being and development of all pupils.

**Desirable:

  • Experience working with SEN children (ASD, ADHD, SEMH).
  • Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or behaviour management.
