Family Liaison Support Officer

  • Annual Salary: £25,979 - £28,770 pro rata
  • Location: Torfaen
  • Job Type: Permanent/Temporary, Term Time Only (40 weeks per year)
  • Hours: 32.5 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM)

We are seeking a dedicated Family Liaison Support Officer to join our team, supporting pupils with severe and complex learning difficulties aged between 2 and 19 years. The ideal candidate will be reliable, resilient, and flexible, with a strong ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Day to day of the role:

  • Provide support to pupils with special educational needs, ensuring their emotional wellbeing and development are catered for.
  • Attend to the personal care needs of children and young adults as required.
  • Follow instructions and contribute positively to the pupils' learning environment.
  • Embrace change and actively contribute to the school's development.
  • Maintain a conscientious approach to all tasks and display enthusiasm in your role.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children/young people with special educational needs.
  • Experience in attending to the personal care needs of children and young adults.
  • Ability to support pupils' emotional wellbeing and development.
  • A desire to further professional development within a supportive school setting.
  • The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
