Position Description:
The DPP Launch and PVT team are responsible for delivering new models and model year programs on behalf of the DPP engineering department, also delivering the targets set by the business for DPP Quality, contributing to the drive to achieve world class performance levels.

The team operate in an exciting & dynamic environment providing the interface between the core DPP engineering team and manufacturing. There are several roles available within the team aligning to 3 different deliverables: launch, PVT quality and EDS harness. The chosen candidates will be assigned roles within the team depending on their individual strengths and aspirations. As a Launch Engineer you will be part of the team leading the introduction of electrical systems for new model programs into the plant, leading investigation into issues identified during the launch process, assisting the engineering teams to develop containments and design solutions, and managing the launch metrics.

As a PVT engineer you will work on electrical system issues affecting manufacturing and our customers, problem solving, monitoring quality systems and assisting developing design improvements hence contributing to the delivery of Quality targets for each vehicle line. As an EDS engineer you would support both launch and PVT with a focus on the high and low voltage harnesses and connectors. NoteDPP Digital Product Platform is the new name for the business electrical engineering department. PVT refers to Plant Vehicle Team.

Skills Required:

  • Use of problem solving tools and processes
  • Knowledge and technical understanding of electrical systems (including control module software, diagnostics and electrical wiring harnesses)
  • Use of diagnostic tools to integrate vehicle electrical systems

Qualifications
Degree or higher education equivalent qualification in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or an applicable applied science. Alternatively we will consider applicants with equivalent technical knowledge accrued through previous workplace roles.

Experience
Previous experience of vehicle launch into production including experience of delivery of problem resolutions in manufacturing or Previous experience of plant vehicle quality operations in production including experience of delivery of problem resolutions in manufacturing or Previous experience of engineering delivery of electrical systems (including control module software or electrical wiring harnesses)

Experience Preferred:

  • Microsoft package elements PowerPoint & Excel
  • Ability to deliver presentations to work groups
  • Knowledge ability to use Data Logging tools (such as Corvus, Snapshot, DLT, CANalyser)
  • Good understanding of field quality data systems & metrics (IQM, AWS, VFDB)
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (such as Digibuck, Teamcentre, 3D Experience)
  • Experience of cross functional co-ordination between engineering, manufacturing, service and quality
  • Previous experience of vehicle program delivery
  • Previous knowledge of business systems (such as WERS, AIMS, JIRA)
  • Analysis of internal and external quality data, including warranty and road side assist data, to define problem definition statements and develop containment solutions.
