Reed Accountancy are seeking an Audit Supervisor to join the Corporate Client Services team on behalf of a mid-sized accounting firm in Central London. The role is primarily audit-focused and allows for specialisation by client sector or type, tailored to individual preferences. You will have exposure to partners, directors, and senior managers, contributing significantly to the team's success.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Planning, supervising, and executing full end-to-end audits.
  • Achieving agreed budgets and meeting deadlines.
  • Setting objectives for junior staff, supervising on-site, reviewing their work, and providing on-the-job coaching.
  • Auditing large companies, including planning, execution, and completion.
  • Delivering a complete audit file for manager review.
  • Supervising the audit team on-site, reviewing the work of juniors, and assisting with technical accounting and audit questions.
  • Identifying and delivering complex areas of audits with the assistance of the senior manager/director.
  • Drafting recommendations for improvements to internal controls following audit fieldwork.
  • Liaising closely with clients and other stakeholders, often with direct contact at partner and director levels.
  • Motivating and encouraging the team and promoting the firm's interests.
  • Assisting with internal training courses and practice development activities.
  • Identifying business development opportunities with clients in liaison with partners/directors.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • ACA/ACCA qualification or equivalent international chartered accounting qualification.
  • Experience leading audit teams, including group audits.
  • Proficiency in substantive and controls-based audit testing.
  • Training from a top 20 firm is highly regarded.
  • Technical competence with solid experience and understanding of UK GAAP and auditing standards.
  • Practical IFRS experience is desirable.
  • High level of personal motivation and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate teams.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Personable and confident, able to relate well with clients and team members.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
