Your new employer enjoys a strong footprint in the UK SME market, offering open market underwriting solutions to broker partners and also delegated underwriting authority to a network of UK based cover holders.
The Chief Underwriting Officer is a key position within the Underwriting Management function and the business as a whole.
This is an expansive role with a diverse range of responsibilities and will include:
- Guide and review improvements to procedures and methodologies
- Lead enhancements and the development of products
- Overview of controls framework and regulatory compliance requirements
- Manage the underwriting audit function
- Monitor training needs and skills development
- Ensure effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Drive strategic portfolio management
- Set and deliver underwriting KPI's
What you need to show
- In-depth understanding and experience in the UK commercial underwriting market
- Good knowledge of underwriting policies and procedures with first-hand experience of implementation of these
- Proven expert knowledge of commercial insurance wordings, product development, underwriting, legal, and regulatory
- Excellent collaboration skills, interpersonal skills, project management skills, analytical skills
- Strong leadership and management experience.
