Managing Director Swanley £100,000 - £120,000 + incentives and benefits

This is a global, privately-owned leader in their field providing a range of highly engineered surveillance solutions into the UK and International markets. Renowned for their commitment to excellence and innovation they are truly at the head of their sector with world class in-house design and manufacturing capabilities coupled with strong commitment to ongoing R&D and new product development.

They are now looking to appoint a new Managing Director who will capitalise on existing solid foundations and look to continue to evolve the business through shrewd strategic and commercial development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic vision that places a strong emphasis on consolidation and growth.
  • Drive operational efficiencies and work with key existing senior figures to drive new product development, R&D, and technological innovation.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans.
  • Manage the financial health of the business whilst ensuring that there is a continual focus on the allocation of resources into new product development and R&D.
  • Build and maintain long term relationships with shareholders, business partners, customers and relevant authorities.
  • Quickly identify the culture of the business and provide a style of leadership that is engaging and respects existing company values and working practices.

Person Specification:

  • Previous experience working in a senior leadership role either at Managing Director, General Manager or similar level.
  • MA in Business Administration or Engineering qualifications preferred or a track record in a similar role in a technology or engineering-led business.
  • A pedigree in setting strategic plans and implementing them.
  • An appreciation of the working practices, challenges and commercial approach of an engineering led business.
  • An outstanding communicator who is easily able to effectively win trust and loyalty amongst staff.
  • Superior quantitative and qualitative analytical skills.
  • A problem solver who is able to keep calm under pressure.
  • A high level of financial acumen and experienced in managing budgets and driving profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
