We are seeking an experienced Concept Development Manager to join a well-known UK bakery brand based in High Wycombe.
Key Info/Benefits:
- Job Title: Concept Development Manager
- Contract Length: Fixed Term Contract, 12 months
- Location: High Wycombe, HP12
- 3 days per week in office, 2 days from home. Some travel to sites required.
- Salary: £43,000
- Car Allowance: £417 per month
- Pension Up to 7.5%, if you put in 6% or more
- Holidays: 25 days + BH (pro-rata)
- Up to 15% bonus
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays with an option to buy 5 more days
Overview/Responsibilities:
- To lead & support defined Retailer brand development projects.
- Translate & manage product ideas from concept through to launch.
- To provide site support across the UK on various projects.
Additional roles and responsibilities:
- This role is a mix of hands on and project management managing timelines and expectations. Retailer products are led by commercial team.
- Creating concepts from brief in test bakery - in line with commercial and marketing.
- Presenting concepts and explaining why you would choose those ingredients/recipes.
- Must work within parameters in terms of ingredients/toppings.
- Need to work cross functionally with site leaders, production, packaging.
- Need to transfer this through to factory trials, gather nutritional data, shelf-life data with support from wider team.
- Speaking to retailers/internally- very cross functional.
- A number of ongoing projects (EPD), paused projects.
Experiences/Qualifications/Capabilities:
Essential:
- Skilled craft baker with NVQ III or BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Baking Technology or equivalent.
- Excellent technical, process & operational bakery knowledge.
- Confident in the use and functionality of bakery raw materials.
Desirable:
- At least 2 years in the bakery manufacturing environment.
- Experienced in working with customers and providing customer product presentations.
- Experienced at working with bakery teams, understanding manufacturing and site technical compliance requirements, providing clear direction and project delivery.
