Job Summary:

I am seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager with a strong background in stock control and implementation to join my clients finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of inventory management, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of stock control processes, and leading the implementation of new financial system and procedures to optimise operations as well as overseeing and managing the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the financial management of inventory, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of stock levels, costs, and valuation.
  • Develop and maintain robust inventory control policies and procedures to minimize loss, optimize stock levels, and improve cash flow.
  • Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless integration of stock control systems with financial reporting.
  • Prepare and present detailed financial reports on stock control performance, including inventory turnover, stock ageing, and financial impact of stock movements.
  • Lead the month-end close process, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliation.
  • Ensure all accounts are reconciled, discrepancies are investigated, and adjustments are made as necessary.
  • Lead the implementation of new financial systems and processes related to stock control, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Train and support staff on new systems and processes, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to operations
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts related to inventory and stock control, ensuring alignment with overall financial goals.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget, analyse variances, and recommend actions to manage inventory costs effectively

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a finance role with a focus on stock control and inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of financial systems and processes, with experience in system implementation and process improvement.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in financial software (e.g., ERP systems, Excel)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
