Job description
We are a well- established carpet wholesaler based in Keighley with a portfolio of associated companies looking for an enthusiastic part qualified management accountant to join us in providing management account services across all companies.
With experience of working with Xero Accounting Software, it would also be an advantage to have the flexibility to work with other systems as we have bespoke systems covering stock, sales and purchases.
Hours and Benefits
- Working 5 days per week:
- Monday to Thursday 08:30am until 17:00pm
- Friday 08:30am until 16:00pm
- Contributory Pension Scheme
- £30,000 - £32,000 per annum
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining sales ledger with responsibility to ensure agreement with the bespoke sales ledger system.
- Maintaining purchase ledger with responsibility to ensure agreement with bespoke purchase system.
- Preparing regular bank reconciliations
- Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT Returns.
- Preparation of quarterly management accounts and reporting to the external accountant.
- Providing assistance to external auditors and accountants with the year end financial statements.
- To be pro-active in identifying system weaknesses and recommending improvements thereto,
The ideal candidate:
- Experience of working in the commercial sector.
- Minimum of 2 years experience of working in a similar role would be advantageous
- Studying towards relevant role qualifications (AAT, CIMA) or qualified by experience
- Motivated and detail-oriented individual who can effectively communicate with various stakeholders and work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
- Has a can-do attitude and is eager to learn.
- Full driving licence as there will be a requirement to travel between sites.
