The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a bank wide strong risk culture.

Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) is a department within the Risk Division. As a Second Line of Defence function, NFRM is responsible for oversight across all aspects of non-financial risk (NFR), including risk identification and assessment, control framework, risk appetite and scenario analysis.

The role will be part of the financial Product Perimeter Control Execution Team, within the newly formed Strategic Control-Execution Team, whose core mandate is to manage the financial product and non-vanilla transaction perimeters and lifecycles.

Your key responsibilities

  • The day-to-day management and escalation of issues within the risk management and approval processes for amendments to the product perimeter (API) and new complex transactions.
  • Managing the lifecycle of the API - breach investigation, conditions, dormancy, systematic product reviews.
  • Escalating breaches of, or failures of involved parties to adhere to, the prescribed requirements for changes to the financial product perimeter and/or new non-vanilla transactions to the Global Head of the New Business Office and across to product / regional management as appropriate.
  • Reporting relevant data to regional business management (e.g. Regional Management Board) and flagging key data points which are of particular relevance / interest to Business / Regional Management.
  • Supporting globally the design and implementation of the NBO Future State as required.
  • Responding to regulatory and audit requirements as required.

Your skills and experience

  • Experience in financial product governance within a major bank.
  • Additional experience in business, finance, risk management, consulting, or similar role within financial services.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the transactions and financials products offered by a Tier 1 investment bank as well as the supporting infrastructure and controls.
  • Experience overseeing the execution of controls and an ability to identify opportunities for automation and streamlining.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders within a high-pressure dynamic environment and be willing to challenge as required.
