Financial Reporting Manager

We are seeking a Financial Reporting Manager to join our Finance department. This role is pivotal in preparing and submitting monthly and yearly financial and management accounts, providing commentary and financial analysis for the Bank. The successful candidate will manage and supervise the Assistant Manager, Finance and perform other finance duties as required.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Prepare and oversee the preparation of financial reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with UK GAAP/IFRS.
  • Conduct financial analysis to interpret variances, trends, and key metrics to aid management decisions.
  • Manage the production or review of tax returns, VAT returns, and ensure timely quarterly tax payments.
  • Prepare disclosure notes for the annual financial statements and collaborate with external auditors.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls over financial reporting processes.
  • Supervise and support the Assistant Manager, Finance, ensuring professional development and departmental goals are met.
  • Assist with regulatory reporting and support the Regulatory Reporting Manager with FINREP returns.
  • Engage in system, process, and control improvements to ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Streamline financial reporting processes to enhance efficiency and improve the quality of financial information.
  • Ensure compliance with financial reporting and accounting laws and regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant with at least 3 years' experience in a similar role within financial services.
  • Excellent Excel, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Experience in the preparation of financial accounts, including knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS 9.
  • Experience in corporation tax and VAT matters.
  • Regulatory reporting experience, including knowledge of FINREP.
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate direct reports.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with flexibility and adaptability.
