Role – Technical Buyer
Location – Close to Thetford, Norfolk
Working hours – Monday to Friday – Full time hours
Salary – Up to £30,000 per annum
Capacity of role – Permanent position
We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join our client based in Thetford. Applicants will need to be proficient in all purchasing based duties. You will be expected to provide category management and support within the purchasing function.
Main duties will include –
- Supporting the Senior Buyer in delivering an effective procurement strategy;
- Building and managing relationships with suppliers;
- Placing and expediting orders with suppliers;
- Liaising heavily with various stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure the availability and timeliness of materials for production across the site;
- Being an active participant in the Supply Chain team to continually drive process and procedural improvements in the daily work;
- Monitoring order prices against standard with an objective to save money.
Candidate attributes –
- Have GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths and English;
- Experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally with a purchasing background
- Computer literate with excellent general IT skills, ideally including a good understanding of Excel;
- Good organisational and time management skills;
- Have strong attention to detail;
- Be self motivated, determined and driven to develop the role;
- Work well under pressure with the ability to work to strict deadlines;
