Senior Enforcement Officer/Environmental Team Manager
Rate: £360p/d umbrella Inside IR35
Lincolnshire, Hybrid Working
Duration: 3 month contract initially with likely extensions
We're looking for an experienced Environmental Health Practitioner, to lead a busy Environmental Enforcement Team.
Responsibilities:
- To work as part of a team to deliver operational and enforcement activities as detailed in relevant service plans
- To manage a team of Environmental Enforcement Officers delivering across a range of community and environmental issues including environmental protection, environmental crime and other matters affecting the street scene and amenities of our community
- To offer advice and respond to appropriate service requests and use necessary enforcement powers as appropriate and co-ordinate specific projects
- You will be required to support staff to deliver a graduated approach to enforcement utilising the full range of regulatory sanctions
- You must be self-motivated with excellent relationship, and operational management skills to mentor and support staff in the delivery of a range of issues including statutory nuisance, fly tipping, waste duty of care, stray dogs and abandoned vehicle investigations
- You will be expected to manage officers with a range of technical and regulatory experience ensuring a customer focussed approach
- The successful candidate is encouraged to review and shape service improvements to both policy and operating processes
Requirements:
- To be a success in this role you will have a degree or its equivalent in Environmental Health and a sound working knowledge of the relevant regulatory frameworks
- Experience of conducting environmental permit inspections and processing of permit applications is also desirable
- You will be required to carry out visits and inspections
- A full driving licence is essential
