We are looking for an individual to oversee financial, regulatory and business reporting of Markel International and its subsidiaries within the business Group's Global Finance Department.

What you'll be doing:
Produce UK GAAP Financial Statements: Responsible for the accurate production of UK GAAP financial statements, ensuring comprehensive provision of information for the audit process, including reconciliations and samples. Ensure timely sign-off of financial statements within agreed timelines.
Solvency II Reporting: Assist in the preparation of annual Solvency II returns for Company Ltd and Syndicate 3000, as well as quarterly Solvency II reporting for MIICL.
Regulatory Returns Management: Take ownership of the preparation and submission of various regulatory returns, ensuring adherence to deadlines and maintaining a high standard of work.
Balance Sheet Reconciliation: Support the quarterly balance sheet reconciliation process. Prepare analysis packs for both consolidated and legal entity balance sheets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise effectively with other business areas, including Actuarial, Legal and Compliance, Internal Audit, US Corporate Finance, and other members of the London Finance team.
Our must-haves:
- Fully Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) with experience in insurance sector is essential for this role.
- Detailed knowledge and experience of UK Financial, Regulatory and preferably Solvency II reporting.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- A strong collaborative approach combined with the ability to work independently towards tight, internal and external timeframes.
