Are you passionate about supporting those affected by domestic violence? Do you have experience or qualifications as an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA)? If so, we want to hear from you.
We are currently seeking a skilled IDVA to join our frontline response team, providing essential support to individuals at risk of domestic abuse.
**Key Responsibilities:
First Response & Risk Assessment:
- Make initial contact with citizens following referral
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments using DASH RIC
- Deliver informed safety planning and take necessary safeguarding actions
- Make appropriate onward referrals and signpost to relevant services
Crisis Intervention & Safety Planning:
- Deliver effective and personalised safety planning
- Advise on housing and refuge options
- Support with legal remedies and target hardening
Advocacy:
- Guide individuals on reporting options
- Represent cases at MARAC when required
- Advocate for client needs across relevant services
Pathway Coordination:
- Establish and maintain robust internal and external referral pathways
- Work collaboratively with IDVA and medium-risk teams, statutory agencies, Women's Aid, LGBTQ+ support services, SARC, ISVA, and other partners
**Requirements:
- IDVA qualification or significant experience working as an IDVA
- Strong understanding of domestic abuse, safeguarding, and multi-agency working
- Experience using DASH RIC and developing safety plans
- Excellent communication and advocacy skills
