Finance Director

My client, a high-end tech company based just outside of Hitchin, is seeking a commercially minded finance professional to join the business as Finance Manager, Director Designate . This role will help manage a complex small business, driving it forward in a profitable, sustainable and successful manner.

As Finance Director, you will be a key part of the organisations senior management team and will be responsible for the delivery of all aspects of financial management for the business. This will include corporate accounting, budgeting, multi-currency cash management, financial and regulatory reporting and cash management.

This is an office-based role and will report directly to the company owners. You will play a key role in the future growth and success of what is an extremely high-profile business who work a range prestigious project all around the world.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Management including:

  • Manage cash flow including GBP, Euro, and US Dollar accounts, and Monaco SARL and cash flow analysis.

  • Forecast and manage FX and foreign currency requirements.

  • Produce monthly management accounts

  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and document in the month-end file.

  • Oversee timely monthly PAYE and VAT returns (UK and France).

  • Ensure monthly pension information upload alongside apply appropriate depreciation rates.

  • Maintain the integrity of job costing systems and identify potential fraud.

  • Handle project accounting and control.

  • Purchase Ledger/Sales Ledger/Payroll management.

  • Banking/Cash Management

  • Department Management:

  • Manage the Procurement and Warehouse functions.

  • Oversee the preparation of monthly accounts for Monaco Company.

  • Miscellaneous, including insurances, fixed asset register.

  • Prepare annual budget and re-forecasting.

  • Provide company financial reports

  • Operations and purchasing support including:

  • Produce job costing reports to assist operations.

  • Identify and implement project efficiency improvements.

  • Create reports for monitoring purchase orders and outstanding deliveries.

The ideal Finance Director candidate will need:

  • Must be qualified (ACCA, CIMA), or qualified through experience.
  • Experience of working within a similar commercial finance role within a small but complex business environment.
  • Experience of using accounting software (Sage Line 50)
  • Effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Experience of working directly with company owners
  • Happy to work in a hands on environment

This role is a full-time office-based role, working Monday to Friday, paying a salary of between £80,000 to £90,000, plus benefits package including 25 days holiday.
