SEN Teacher - SEPTEMBER START

Location: Shrewsbury

Duration: Ongoing, Full-time

Salary: £155 - £210 per day

The School/Role:

Aspire are currently partnering with a highly regarded school in the Shrewsbury area, seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN teacher for a full-time position with the possibility of going temp to perm.

This school is focused on providing quality education to students with mild to severe learning difficulties and additional needs. The institution is equipped with specialised resources and facilities designed to meet the unique educational requirements of its students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and differentiated lessons across a range of subjects, catering to the diverse needs of students with SEMH needs.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes positive behaviour, resilience, and academic progress.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and support strategies to meet the specific needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, therapists, and support staff to provide a holistic approach to student support and development.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, and carers
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities, events, and initiatives

Requirements:

  • PGCE / Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching across a range of subjects
  • Understanding of SEMH needs and experience working with students with challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching strategies to meet the individual needs of students.
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
