We are now seeking an Examinations Officer to join us on a part-time basis to help maintain and organise the Mocks and the Main Summer External Examinations at our College Road site!

The Role

In this position, you will be responsible for running the Sixth Form exams, ensuring compliance with examination regulations, and supporting our students throughout the assessment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Exam Manager and Exam Officer
  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of invigilators
  • Create seating plans accounting for access arrangements
  • Organise and supervise all external and mock examinations
  • Monitor and manage the receipt of examination papers
  • Liaise with Heads of Department on student entries and registrations
  • Ensure the strict security of examination materials
  • Assist in the distribution of examination results and manage queries
  • Maintain accurate logs of all exam entries and requests
  • Stay up to date with JCQ requirements through ongoing training

The Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented individual with a good understanding of the examination process. You will have:

  • Previous experience in a similar role or understanding of examination processes
  • Familiarity with JCQ regulations
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with laptops/Chromebooks
  • The ability to create seating plans and account for access arrangements

Working Arrangements:

  • Two weeks spread over Mid-August to Mid-September to support remarking of papers before and around exam day
  • Three weeks in February/March for Mock Examinations
  • Mid-March to Early July (Often available from 7.30 am until the end of the exam session during external exams)
  • Other times, according to exam requirements for practicals, etc.

The sixth-form exam officer will coordinate the examination process and the exam invigilators. This role is vital in upholding the integrity of the examination/assessment process. Applicants will be asked to declare if they have invigilated previously and whether they have any current maladministration/malpractice sanctions applied to them.
