About the role

Covering the Forest of Dean district, the role will entail investigating and assisting with a wide range of planning enforcement cases, which will include identifying and investigating breaches of planning control. You will have the ability to pick up technical concepts quickly and to communicate effectively to different levels of staff to gain the best outcomes for all planning project cases for the benefit of the team.

The successful candidate will also look to provide excellent service within an administrative capacity. You will need to have good attention to detail due to the nature of this role as well as the ability to organise and prioritise workload independently, working to tight deadlines ensuring projects are completed effectively.

Additionally, you will be speaking to different variety of customers, and it is important that the successful candidate has excellent customer care skills to get a clear understanding of the needs of all stakeholders and provide practical solutions.

Ultimately this is a development role where the successful candidate will look to grow into the role for the long term. There will be opportunity and training to expand the role and take on more responsibility within the role.

You will need

  • A minimum of 5 qualifications equivalent to NVQ level 2 or GCSE at Grade C/4 or above, must include Maths and English
  • Experience of dealing with the general public within a customer orientated service
  • Excellent customer care skills and Ability to follow instructions and to challenge constructively, suggesting solutions to issues where appropriate
  • Ability to work with attention to detail to produce accurate and well-presented work
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload largely unsupervised, working to tight deadlines ensuring a regular, consistent output of work
