My client in Exeter is looking for a full time Exams Administrator for a period of four weeks. They are required to start asap on a full-time basis and will be 100% office based.

Due to the nature of this role you will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.

An administrator within an exams department is a person who supports the examinations officer in the administration, management and conducting of examinations in schools and colleges. Some of the main duties and responsibilities of an administrator within an exams department are:

  • Assisting with the examination entry process, including gathering information from teaching staff, processing entries, amendments, withdrawals, and transfers using both internal and external systems and databases
  • Assisting with the examination preparation process, including preparing examination timetables, seating plans, registers, and notices for students and staff, booking rooms and invigilators, arranging access arrangements and special considerations, and receiving, checking and securely storing confidential examination materials
  • Assisting with the examination days, including setting up examination rooms, distributing and collecting examination papers and scripts, invigilating examinations, dealing with emergencies, irregularities and malpractice, and packing and dispatching examination scripts
  • Assisting with the examination results, including accessing and downloading results from awarding body secure sites, disseminating results to students and staff, dealing with requests and administering post-results services, and issuing examination certificates
  • Assisting with the production and analysis of data and reports on exam performance and outcomes, and providing evidence for audit purposes to internal and external agencies

To be an effective administrator within an exams department, one needs to have relevant administrative, communication, and organisational skills, with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
