We are seeking a dedicated Furniture Buyer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for quality, style, and value, who can navigate the complexities of sourcing and procurement in the furniture industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for selecting a range of furniture that aligns with our brand and customer expectations.
Day to day of the role:
- Identify and source new products and review existing items to ensure a competitive edge.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best prices and terms.
- Work closely with the merchandising and inventory teams to forecast trends, plan stock levels and monitor performance.
- Analyse consumer buying patterns and predict future trends.
- Regularly review performance indicators, such as sales and discount levels.
- Attend trade fairs, to select and assemble a new collection of products.
- Liaise with shop personnel to ensure supply meets demand.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
- Ensure that the products comply with the quality standards and legal requirements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Buyer, preferably within the furniture or home goods sector.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to network and influence people.
- Keen commercial awareness and the ability to understand and analyse sales figures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to make important decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines.
- A flair for recognising future trends.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- A degree in business, retail, or a related field is advantageous.
