Description

To complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations at least monthly and keep up to date to link in with the Monthly Management accounts.

  • To be an administrative lead for the Purchase ledger control system and to review the outstanding commitments monthly with Budget Holders
  • To prepare banking sheets and weekly cash counting to process banking.
  • To maintain the fixed asset register including any additions and disposals each month and to do a Termly tracking of assets and verification checks
  • To run prepayment and other journals to assist with the month end accounts.
  • To support the Director of Finance and Operations with data input and any ad hoc work required to ensure the smooth running of the department.
  • To complete monthly reconciliation for income between accounting and fundraising systems.
  • To post monthly credit card and payment machine transactions.
  • To post direct debits and ad hoc payments monthly.
  • To run reports for stakeholders from SAGE as required.
  • To run reports and reconciliations for Budget Holders from SAGE at least Monthly.
  • Maintain accurate information and relevant filing systems to ensure we keep in line with data protection and retention of documents.
  • To be open to and support changes in departmental processes and systems to improve efficiency

Profile

  • Experience in a similar role essential
  • Not for Profit or Education Experience is advantageous
  • You will work closely with the team and department heads to provide effective and efficient management finances.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to have excellent numeracy and IT skills, be self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and to work flexibly and on their own initiative whilst demonstrating high levels of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Working knowledge of office procedures
  • An understanding of nominal, sales and purchase ledgers
  • Good IT skills, in particular Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Sound interpersonal & communications skills
  • Pro-active approach to problem solving
  • Attention to detail and solution focused
  • May be working towards an accountancy degree
