Transport Network Manager
Location: South Yorkshire (On Site)
Package: £55,000 - £65,000 + Bonus
Great to be partnering with this Global Distributor exclusively on a fantastic transformational new role to support their logistics network development.
You will be responsible for the effective running and development of the UK transport network. Whilst also being critical in the creation and transformation of the optimum delivery proposition
You'll be accountable for establishing and coordinating an effective transport operations across the UK. As well as championing colleague engagement, creating and maintaining a highly engaged workforce.
You will have a unique opportunity to create a newly established transport network focused on continuous improvement, efficiency and safety.
This is a fantastic business going through a significant amount of change. You will be given the autonomy and ownership to have a direct impact reporting to a Senior Director.
What will the role entail?
- Overarching responsibility for the effective management of the transport network,
- Successfully managing both external 3rd party partnerships and in house fleet. Completing a review of the current operation.
- Managing and improving a complex distribution model; understanding customers' needs and optimising approach
- Lead on key improvement projects to deliver optimal operating model, through new initiatives in cost saving, safety and service
Key skills and experience required?
- Experienced Transport, Network or Transport Planning Leader at a national or regional level
- Strong knowledge of fleet profiling/optimisation and network design/transport planning
- Ideally experience in both inhouse and 3PL transport management
- Experienced in change management with a track record of delivering significant improvement to both cost and service
