Our client has been established for more than 70 years and are internationally renowned market leaders in the development and manufacture of precision stamping and pressing applications for an impressive range of clients throughout the world, and are seeking to recruit a dynamic and experienced Master Production Scheduler to complement their professional Production and Operations Division.

Reporting to the General Manager and working in an ISO9001, ISO13485, ISO14001 and IATF16949 accredited environment based near Dudley, the successful Master Production Scheduler candidate will both develop and implement a robust master production scheduling systems utilising EFACS ERP architecture to analyse changes in demand and the impact on related production and supply chain requirements. Core responsibilities for this varied and challenging role will include (but not be limited to):

  • Developing the strategy and implementation plan to create a planning and scheduling capability to identify long, mid and short-term production requirements (people, process, materials and assets) to support quality execution of the production plan. A key element of this strategy will be developing a cross-over/integration plan from the existing MS Excel based process to MPS planning capability using EFACS MRP - so advanced knowledge and experience of EFACS is essential for the position.
  • Acting as primary point of contact and interface to the ERP provider (EFACS), coordinating all internal requests for changes/issues with external ERP company.
  • Developing planning and scheduling tools which translate forecast demand (order book and opportunities) into production requirements.
  • Creating and maintaining the master production schedule for the company order book and monitoring inventory levels and forecasting future needs and adjusting the master schedule as needed to accommodate changes in customer demand or production constraints.
  • Generating regular reports on order status, production progress, and inventory levels.
  • Identifying potential scheduling problems and working with relevant departments to resolve them, whilst continuously striving to improve the efficiency of the scheduling process, developing tools to understand production performance to inform CI performance opportunities, production capacity slot planning, and articulating the impact of customer changes on delivery to milestones and informing future projects on hours required to deliver product components.
  • Early engagement in the product lifecycle to inform the bid and NPI team on production capabilities, working collaboratively to develop solutions to meet customer requirements and expectations.
  • Translating production demand into materials requirements (BOM's, quantity, schedule) which is provided to the commercial team and informs strategic procurement to enable materials to be made available to support quality execution of the production plan.

To be considered for this exceptional Master Production Scheduler opportunity with a genuine market leading blue-chip organisation, it is envisaged that the successful candidate will be degree qualified or above in a relevant engineering discipline with APICS CPIM proving advantageous.

ESSENTIALLY you will demonstrate advanced knowledge of the EFACS ERP system (specifically the planning module) and at least 10 years' experience in manufacturing planning. With excellent influencing, decision making and leadership skills at all levels and experience of embedding cultural change and driving continuous improvement, you will possess the aptitude to create and drive strategies to deliver required objectives, all gained within an engineering planning and scheduling environment.
