Marketing Assistant

Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2025.

Location: Hybrid role - requirement to travel to the office in Melton Mowbray at least once per week for team meetings. Travel may be required for company wide activities, programme events and team meetings.

Primary Job Purpose

Supporting the delivery of programme marketing initiatives across the Midlands and North, specifically digital marketing activities to enhance brand awareness of a variety of business support programmes. This role will work collaboratively within the wider marketing team whilst proactively engaging with programme stakeholders both internally and externally.

Main Areas of Responsibility

The Marketing Assistant will provide support as a central marketing resource for Oxford Innovation Advice, focused on managing our social media presence across all UKSPF programmes, email campaigns and promotional activities delivered online.

The role will also be responsible for the delivery of some internal and external communications, including website and content creation.

Activity will include but not limited to:

  • Engage via social media platforms used to promote our business support programmes.
  • Develop and implement effective social media plans to enhance programme brand visibility and engagement across various platforms – specifically LinkedIn.
  • Monitor social media trends, and share new tactics with the wider marketing team.
  • Engage with online communities that add value to programme brand awareness.
  • Proactively respond to comments and enquiries promptly, and maintain a positive brand image.
  • Collaborate with the wider marketing team to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all social media channels.
  • Working with the Marketing Executive and Managers to support activity related to programme marketing plans.
  • Working with programme delivery teams to coordinate a schedule of content.
  • Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure schedules and timescales are reached
  • Prepare monthly performance analysis reports of social media and marketing activities.
  • Providing value add where applicable to company reputation.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the Marketing Managers within the company – this to include weekly meetings and monthly best practice sessions.
  • Support future company initiatives and projects
  • Track key marketing metrics and be able to report on marketing ROI.

Skills & Experience

Highly motivated, flexible self-starter with excellent organisation and communication skills, robust analytical skills and good attention to detail, alongside:

  • Minimum of one years' marketing experience.
  • Experience of managing a wide variety of social media platforms – specifically LinkedIn.

  • Technical ability.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines (accurately and quickly).
  • Ability to adapt to changing timescales.
  • Highest standard of organisation.
  • Ability to communicate clearly at all levels.

Experience:

  • Experience of managing social media pages
  • Experience of developing targeted campaigns specific to client groups and specific service offerings.
  • Experience of developing and maintaining website content.
  • Professional use of social media platforms.
  • Knowledge of support and funding for businesses in the UK
