HEAD OF PROCUREMENT VACANCY
Annual Salary: up to £60k per annum DOE
Location: CB9 postcode area with Hybrid working

We are looking for a Head of Procurement who will also serve as a Climate Ambassador, to lead our Trust in the end-to-end procurement process and manage our journey towards carbon neutrality. This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, who can manage complex projects and deliver the best commercial outcomes for the Trust.
Day to Day of the role:
- Lead the Trust in procurement processes, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and achieving the best commercial outcomes.
- Manage major contracts and ensure delivery against agreed terms, including ongoing review and commercial negotiations.
- Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation.
- Drive the Trust's efforts to become carbon neutral by 2040, managing relationships with external energy service providers and supporting school-led environmental initiatives.
- Establish and maintain a central contracts register, monitor key dates, and proactively manage supplier relationships.
- Provide expert procurement and contract advice, guidance, and training to colleagues at all levels within the Trust.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Public sector procurement experience/procurement experience within a multi-disciplined commercial organisation
- Recognised management/business degree or equivalent related professional qualification.
- Proficiency in interpreting complex financial data and contractual information using tools such as Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Strategic and hands-on approach, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
