Inventory/Demand Planner

My client is looking for an Inventory/Demand Planner to join their supply chain team with the mission to continuously improve the supply chain function. The key objectives include maximising customer service levels, optimising inventory and ensuring an efficient approach to all supply chain and project-related planning activities.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Be part of a best-in-class inventory planning team, managing purchase orders from 3rd party overseas factories.
  • Interpret and validate MRP plans, generate, approve and progress POs and associated paperwork.
  • Identify shortages and potential out-of-stock situations, taking actions to minimise supply chain disruption.
  • Manage Inventory Planning Parameters and ensure the integrity of planning data for continual inventory optimisation.
  • Provide key inventory data, analysis and reports to support routine and ad-hoc planning activities and decision-making.
  • Implement systems and procedures to ensure demand plans are reviewed and updated timely, maintaining data integrity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create accurate demand planning forecasts, incorporating customer data and market intelligence.
  • Support suppliers in maximising delivery performance and report monthly results, working on corrective actions or initiatives as needed.
  • Generate monthly management reports with commentary and analysis for accurate interpretation and decision-making.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Level education or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of inventory planning experience.
  • Background in inventory planning for long lead time FMCG goods within a distribution business.
  • Experience working with major wholesale and retail supply chain teams.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and organisation skills.
  • Proficient in a team environment and independently.
  • Resourceful, lateral thinking and a creative approach to tasks.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate with strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP, pivot tables).
  • Drive, ambition and enthusiasm to deliver results and progress within the organisation.
  • ERP System experience, including Inventory Control.
