The role:

We are looking to hire an experienced Transport Planner.

Waste King Ltd is a specialist waste collections company with over 17 years of experience. Our company is growing, and we now need an experienced Transport Planner to join the team and work closely with the company directors.

This role is integral to the smooth operation of our business. We need someone who has proven experience of transport planning, excellent organisational skills and someone who is great at dealing with people.

Duties and Responsibilities

The role would involve communications face to face, over the phone and on video calls with our drivers throughout the day and dealing with any issues that arise. We currently have 9 vehicles you would be scheduling jobs and planning routes for.

  • You will plan and actively manage transportation and driver time to ensure cost effective use of our transport fleet.
  • You will provide a very high level of customer service to build relationships with drivers, internal and external customers.
  • You will carry out general administrative duties within the transport department, maintain transport and vehicle records and you will be responsible for monitoring vehicle tracker and walk-around checks.
  • You will communicate with all departments within Waste King.

You will be predominantly based at our Cheddington material recycling facility with scheduled days to work from our Wingbury office alongside our sales and customer service teams.

Skills and Experience

Previous Transport Planning (& a full car driving license) is essential.

You will have:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Good attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Great organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Be a great team player

Remuneration & Benefits

  • £28,000 - £33,000 pa (depending on skills and experience)
  • A positive and supportive working environment
  • 28 days holiday, increasing 1 day per year up to 5 years
  • This is Full-time secure employment
