Import Merchandiser x 2

My client is looking for 2 x Import Merchandisers to join their busy team. You will be responsible for the timely arrival of all stock into the European warehouse, direct to customer or delivered to customer on FOB sales terms. This role is responsible for all EMEA merchandising inclusive of GSA.

Reporting to the Supply Chain Team Leader and working closely with other colleagues based at head office, you will be maintaining close working relationships with manufacturers and suppliers ensuring effective supply of product on an on time and in full basis.

The role will be office based for 3 days per week with 2 days working from home. 35hrs working week and an early 3pm finish every Friday.

Main Duties and responsibilities

  • Work to set KPI's
  • Manage suppliers to ensure they meet all delivery requirements
  • Liaise with agents
  • Creation and progressing of purchase orders at factory
  • Ensure all factory paperwork is correct to avoid delays
  • Undertake all SOP activity for EMEA/GSA to manage all of our customer delivery expectations
  • Liaise with the product team to plan all work in a timely manner to avoid delays
  • Responsible for the correct instructions being given to factories for bespoke customers packaging/delivery requirements
  • Accountable for the accuracy of all system maintenance when entering new records.
  • Work towards continual improvement of systems and processes, both internally and externally
  • Ensure all stock is entered in correctly by the warehouse
  • Work towards reducing wasted spend

Knowledge and Skills required

  • Communications Skills - excellent communication skills both verbal and written, are essential to this role.
  • Numeracy -numerate with the ability to work to budgets and understand sales figures
  • Microsoft Office Knowledge - The ability to fully utilise Microsoft Office (especially Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Commerciality - Business sense and negotiation skills
  • Empathy - the ability to understand what the customer wants and to be empathetic to those needs whilst maintaining a commercial perspective.
  • Teamwork - The ability to work well in a team
  • Organisational Skills - Strong organisational & time management skills

  • Ownership - The ability to process stock purchase orders right through from placement to them being receipted by the warehouse in the UK.
