Secondary School SENCO Position with teaching responsibilities

Position: Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO), Secondary School

Start Date: September 2024

Location: Grantham

Salary: £130 - £190 per day

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? Do you have the drive and expertise to lead and manage SEN provision in a dynamic and supportive school environment? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCO to join our secondary school team starting in September. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and either possess the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or be willing to work towards achieving it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Develop and implement effective SEN strategies and policies.
  • Liaise with parents, teachers, and external agencies to support student development.
  • Assess and develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for SEN students.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of SEN students, ensuring their needs are met.
  • Teach Mathematics or English to GCSE level, delivering engaging and effective lessons.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • NASENCO qualification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Experience in teaching Mathematics or English to GCSE level.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • A passion for supporting students with special educational needs.
